How it works

9 Line is built to give equipment buyers and sellers a clear, efficient marketplace for auctions and fixed-price listings. Whether you are listing drilling rigs, trucks, or industrial machinery, the process starts with accurate listings and open communication.

What makes 9 Line different?

We focus on heavy equipment and industrial assets with structured listings, photos, and clear pricing or auction terms so buyers can compare and sellers can reach serious buyers.

Buyers can message sellers, request more documentation, and use search and filters to narrow down equipment by category, location, and listing type. Sellers manage listings from their dashboard and can choose auctions or fixed-price sales depending on what fits their timeline.

Selling on 9 Line

Getting started

Create an account and complete your seller profile. Once your account is verified, you can publish listings and manage them from your dashboard.

Required listing information

When creating a listing, you should provide the following:

  • Equipment type and category
  • Detailed description and specifications
  • Pricing information (fixed price or auction parameters)
  • Location and delivery options
  • Equipment condition and usage history
  • High-quality images and optional videos

Listing management

Once published, your listing is visible to buyers. You can edit details or remove a listing from your seller dashboard. Active listings may expire after a defined period if not sold—see our terms for the current duration.

Listing types & management

Auction listings

Set a starting bid, optional reserve, and auction duration. The auction ends at the scheduled time; the highest qualifying bidder wins. Bids are binding commitments—make sure your terms and reserve reflect your expectations.

Fixed price listings

Set a specific price. The first buyer who completes checkout at that price purchases the equipment, subject to availability and platform rules.

Seller terms (summary)

  • Seller responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing. Misrepresentation may result in removal or account action.
  • Listing fees: Fees are non-refundable per our pricing and terms, whether or not the item sells.
  • Platform role: We provide the marketplace; we do not guarantee transactions or equipment condition. See full terms of use.

Buying on 9 Line

Getting started

Create an account and browse listings. Use search and filters to find equipment by category, manufacturer, location, and listing type.

Contacting sellers

Use messaging to ask questions before you bid or buy. We encourage you to request extra photos, videos, specifications, documentation, or to schedule an inspection when possible.

  • Additional photos or video
  • Technical specs, maintenance or service records
  • Manuals, certificates, or other documents
  • In-person or virtual inspections

If a seller is unresponsive or unwilling to share reasonable information, factor that into your decision.

Making a purchase

Fixed price

Purchase at the listed price when checkout is available. You may need a valid payment method on file.

Auctions

Place bids according to the listing rules. Bids are binding; the high bidder at the close wins, subject to reserve and platform policies. You may need a verified payment method to bid.

Payment, delivery & reviews

After a winning bid or fixed-price purchase, complete payment as directed. The seller is notified; you will receive confirmation and can coordinate pickup or shipping directly with the seller unless we offer a checkout flow that handles part of the process.

  • Equipment is marked sold after successful payment
  • Seller is notified automatically
  • You receive transaction details
  • Delivery or pickup is arranged with the seller

Inspect equipment on receipt when you can, and report discrepancies promptly.

After delivery, buyers and sellers may leave reviews to help others in the community. Review policies apply as described in our terms.

Important terms

  • Due diligence: Buyers are responsible for verifying details before purchasing. If you are unsure, do not bid or buy.
  • Condition: You are responsible for confirming condition at delivery or pickup; disputes are between parties subject to our policies.
  • Binding bids and purchases: Bids and completed purchases are commitments unless the listing is cancelled per policy.
  • Platform disclaimer: 9 Line is a marketplace; we are not liable for listing accuracy, equipment condition, shipping, or disputes between users. See Terms of Service and Disclaimer.
